theScore was again the go-to app for football fans on the first weekend of the season. Three million fans accessed our app on iOS and Android across the first full weekend of football season, with 2.3 million coming to us on Sunday alone.

Fans ate-up our coverage from across the league, with more than two thirds of visitors to the app on the first Sunday of the season coming from the United States, another 27% from Canada and the remainder from all over the world.

In terms of most popular teams on theScore, the Patriots, Cowboys and Packers are the top three sides users have decided to follow, with the option of receiving a range of notification options including Game Start, Game End, Every Scoring Play, Red Zone, Score – Each Quarter, Close Game, Turnovers and Breaking News.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Rob Gronkowski are the three top-followed players with theScore’s users, signing-up to receive alerts including Touchdowns, Fumbles, Receptions, 40 Yard Receptions, Game Milestones, Final Player Stats and Breaking News. Invaluable to fantasy football fans who need to know what’s going on with their roster as the action happens.

Don’t forget, theScore’s team of football writers will be covering all the stories that matter this season, with new columns from former pro-quarterback Sage Rosenfels and former scout Matt Williamson providing deep analysis. On top of this, theScore’s resident fantasy football expert Justin Boone – who is ranked second overall in the Fantasy Pros most accurate expert rankings over the past four seasons – will be delivering updates three times a week on who to pick-up and who to drop.

theScore app is available in the App Store and Google Play.
