John is a media industry entrepreneur, growing his family’s small cable business into one of the 10 largest distributors in the country before founding and building theScore Television Network to become a leader in authentic and interactive sports entertainment, providing sports news, highlights and live games to more than 6.6 million homes in Canada.
In October 2012, John and his team structured and executed the sale of Score Media’s television assets to Rogers Media and the spin-out of Score Media’s digital assets into a new entity – theScore, Inc. This allowed John and his team to focus 100% on growing theScore’s hugely popular mobile platforms, including its flagship app ‘theScore,’ one of the most popular sports apps in North America.
President & Chief Operating Officer
Benjie oversees the development and execution of theScore’s business strategy and has been instrumental in shaping its digital media offerings, including the creation and launch of theScore’s mobile apps. A graduate of the University of Toronto with a B.Com specializing in Finance, Benjie began his career as an investment banker in the Communications and Media group at BMO Nesbitt Burns in Toronto, prior to joining theScore in 2001.
Chief Financial Officer
Tom is responsible overseeing theScore’s financial performance, identifying trends and opportunities to further drive the growth of the business. He joined theScore in 2008, having previously served as CFO for multiple Canadian hi-tech companies where he completed four IPO's, 10 financings with more $400 million raised, and eight M&A transactions. With more than 20 years of financial management and advisory experience, Tom is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor of Economics degree from Trent University.
Senior Vice President, Product
Jonathan has been with theScore since 2001 and leads the development of the company’s mobile and digital platforms, including its flagship app ‘theScore.’ Charged with leading theScore’s talented in-house mobile and web development teams, Jonathan plays a key role in growing theScore’s user base by creating a truly mobile-first experience for sports fans.
Vice President, Content
Joe is responsible for theScore’s content strategy and execution, and oversaw the creation of the company’s innovative ‘mobile first’ newsroom. He began his career with theScore Television Network in 2000, and worked in a variety roles including live television hosting, announcing highlights and writing for theScore.com before moving into content development.
Vice President, Technology
Oliver is responsible for all platforms and infrastructure driving theScore’s business. With 15 years of IT experience in various industries, including finance, consulting, online gaming and media, Oliver has been able to mesh and exploit bleeding edge technologies to match the company’s business goals and objectives. Working for theScore has allowed him to utilize his passion for sports while being on the forefront of “gadgetry coolness”.
Senior Vice President, Sales
Ethan leads theScore’s sales teams across the US and Canada, bringing more than a decade of experience in developing and executing mobile and other digital campaigns that deliver maximum return for his clients. Formerly Vice President of Mobile Advertising Sales at Millennial Media, Ethan is based full time in New York and is committed to working hand-in-hand with brands of all sizes to deliver first-class, mobile-first campaigns.
Vice President, Human Resources
Sally leads all Human Resources (HR) operations at theScore, including identifying and securing the very best talent to complement the company’s talented in-house product development and content teams. Originally from the east coast, Sally made her way west to complete an Honours B.A. degree at the University of Toronto and has been with theScore since 2006.
