theScore’s latest update for iPhone and iPad has landed in the App Store, and it’s one of our biggest yet – completely overhauling our news offering to give sports fans the very best way to track all the latest real time headlines from their mobile device.


We’ve also made it way easier to follow all the teams, leagues and players you care about, as well as adding Player Alerts for NFL and MLB – and a very cool new tool to compare fantasy league picks. New features include:

The best mobile sports news: Real time – all the time. theScore now delivers the most comprehensive mobile sports news available, with content created and curated from the most trusted sources and updated in real time by theScore’s in-house Content Team.

Top News & Hot Games: With Top News, theScore gathers all the biggest sports stories in one place, making it easy to stay up-to-date. Want to know what games to keep an eye on? Hot Games gathers all the most popular events, showing what’s trending at that moment and what’s coming-up, so sports fans won’t miss a thing.

NFL and MLB Player Alerts: Already available for NHL and NBA, Player Alerts now arrive for MLB and NFL. Users are notified in real-time when a player they’re following makes a major scoring play or is involved in breaking news – a perfect tool for fantasy league players.

Follow via Star: theScore’s made it even simpler to follow what matters to sports fans. Just tap the star in the top right corner of the screen to instantly follow the league, team, game or player currently being viewed.

Breaking News Alerts for Every League, Team, and Player: Subscribe to Breaking News Alerts for any league, team or player in the app and theScore sends them straight to the user’s mobile device as soon as a major story breaks.

Player Compare: Sports fans can now select players from almost any league and compare their vital stats side-by-side before making any fantasy league roster moves.

Android versions of these features are currently slated for the fall. In the meantime, we’re busy working on our next major release which contains one feature in particular which will offer even greater personalization options when following sports news on your mobile device.
