Meet Samantha Grant – Customer Success Manager

In the first part of a new series, we meet Samantha Grant, our Customer Success Manager, to learn more about what she loves about theScore, her path in getting here and the qualities others need to be part of our winning team!

1. What do you do at theScore?
I am the Customer Success Manager at theScore. I work with the Operations Team as the users’ advocate internally. We take user feedback and try to figure out what they want to see in the app and then pass that onto the product development team. We monitor the feedback. People will write in all the time with with feature requests for the app. NCAA baseball was our most requested league in the last year, so with that information it got passed to product development and they added it for this year’s College World Series. We then let those users know that we’d added it and they were all really excited!

2. How long have you been doing that for?
I’ve been at theScore since December 2015.

3. What were you doing before that?
I was the Customer Success Manager at Clek Inc, a company that makes car seats for kids.

4. What made you want to work here?
A change of pace and a new environment. theScore is bigger than the office where I was working before. I enjoy working downtown, whereas before I was working in North York, so the environment, the atmosphere, the culture – all of that kind of thing brought me here.

5. What is your favorite thing about working at theScore?
Definitely the people I work with. Everyone is really fun and friendly.

6. What’s the best ‘perk’ of working for theScore?
The people I get to work with and the environment. It’s fun! I really enjoy coming to work everyday. Not to mention the drinks and the snacks are pretty awesome – and the coffee is great!

7. What qualities does a person need to work at theScore?
It is important to be both outgoing and hardworking. You have to work hard, and everyone here does, but you also have to have a fun and outgoing personality. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved in at theScore, you just need to put yourself out there!

8. Do you follow sports or esports closely?
I would consider myself a sports fan; I really enjoy travelling and attending games in different cities. I’m not huge into esports, but I have learned a lot since working here.

9. What teams do you follow and why?
I enjoy watching football in the fall, both NFL and College Football. My favourite college team is Alabama… Roll Tide! I also really enjoy following golf – my favourite player is Rickie Fowler.

10. Besides theScore and theScore esports, what are the three mobile apps you can’t live without?
I’m always embarrassed to say this, but I love Snapchat! I also can’t live without Uber and Spotify.
